Mitch Block
President of Direct Cinema, Executive Producer, Academy Award winner for "Big Mama," Consultant to HBO
Mitchell W. Block is an executive producer of CARRIER a 10-hour documentary series and companion feature, financed by Icon Productions. The series will air on PBS in 2008. He was the executive producer of the HBO production "Big Mama" which won an Academy Award in 2002 for best documentary short film. His distribution company, Direct CinemaLimited, has handled many documentaries and shorts, including over 60 Oscar nominees and winners. He has been teaching at the USC School of Cinematic Arts since 1979.
