Emmy winning Executive Producer & Co-Creator, "In Living Color;" "I'm Gonna Git you Sucka"
Tamara Rawitt winner of the 1990 Emmy Award for “Outstanding Variety/Music/Comedy Series” co-created and produced In Living Color for its first four seasons from 1989 – 93 responsible for discovering Jim Carrey, Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Lopez to mention just a few.
She is currently involved in creating two new television pilots one for Turner Broadcasting and the other for Fremantle Television.
Rawitt is an industry vetern of over 25 years working as a producer of film and television as well as having been a studio executive in both production and marketing at such studios at Columbia, Paramount, MGM and United Artists.
After In Living Color Rawitt went on as Creator and Executive Producer of She/TV, a sketch/variety series for Carsey/Werner and ABC that aired during the summer of 1994.
Later that year, Rawitt served as Executive Producer/Consultant on the ABC morning show Mike & Maty, where she launched the show for the network.
For the next year and a half she was in development on several series for CBS, a sketch/variety show for the WB Network, and a talk show pilot for New World Television.
In early 1997 through 1999 Rawitt joined forces with a management company and worked closely in producing for and managing such clients as Paul Reiser, Eugene Levy, Larry Miller, and The Kids in the Hall’s, Kevin MacDonald.
In late 1999 Rawitt was head hunted and became as President of Programming at Comedy World/ ComedyWorld.com, a new twenty-four hour/seven day a week, comedy network, where she is responsible for over 110 hours of original programming a week that encompasses radio programming, animation and internet. Here, she supervised a staff of over 50 people and had an allotted budget of over 12 million dollars.
Prior to In Living Color, Rawitt produced the 1989 cult classic and sleeper hit I’m Gonna Git You Sucka for MGM/United Artists.
From 1986 - 89, Rawitt served as a Feature Production Executive for both United Artists and Vestron working on such films as Rain Man, Dead Poets Society, Prince of Tides, and Dirty Dancing. From 1984 - 86 she served as Vice President in Charge of Production for Eddie Murphy Productions developing motion picture and television projects. Prior to that, Rawitt was Vice President of Marketing, Publicity and Promotions at Paramount Pictures for five years working closely with Warren Beatty, Steven Spielberg, Barbra Streisand, Dustin Hoffman, Jim Brooks and Frank Mancuso in the marketing of such films as Beverly Hills Cop, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Trading Places, Reds and Terms of Endearment, among many many others.
From 1980-1985 Rawitt worked in marketing and public relations for both Columbia Pictures and EMI/Marble Arch both in New York.
